Service plans

Plans that book the visits for you

With a plan the date goes in the diary each year, so the service never slips. The Heating and cooling plan adds an October visit to check the unit before it starts warming the house. Every visit covers the checks in a single service, for less than booking them one at a time.

What a service covers
  • Single unit

    £85 a year

    • One visit each spring
    • Filters, coil and drain cleaned
    • Leak and pressure check
    • Service sheet for your files
    Choose this plan: Single unit
  • Two or more units

    £120 a year

    • One spring visit for two indoor units
    • £35 more a year per extra indoor unit
    • Outdoor units cleared and checked
    • A reminder before every visit
Choose this plan: Two or more units
  • Heating and cooling

    £175 a year

    • A visit in April and another in October
    • Heating mode tested before winter
    • One or two indoor units
    • A service sheet each time

How we work

From first message to a cooler room

  1. Start with the room

Which room, roughly how big, and your postcode: enough for a first reply and to plan the survey.

  2. A free survey and a fixed price

We visit for about 45 minutes, check the wall, the pipe route and the power, then send one written price no later than two working days after the survey.

  3. Installed and commissioned

A single-room install is normally finished the day it starts. The unit is run in every mode with you there, and the remote and the filter clean are shown before we pack up.

Why Vanecroft

Careful installs, clear handovers

Four habits that make an install quieter, neater and easier to live with.

  • 01

    Matched to the room

Floor area, ceiling height and glazing decide the unit. Too big and it cycles on and off; too small and it runs flat out without catching up.

  • 02

    Every unit on file

The model, the pipe route and each service reading are kept on record, so a later visit starts from what is already known.

  • 03

    Pipework you will not notice

Pipes go straight through the wall behind the unit where they can, or in slim white trunking agreed at the survey.

  • 04

    Paperwork handed over

The commissioning sheet, the electrical certificate and the warranty details, all left with you on the day.

The bedroom unit started blinking and blowing warm air. By lunchtime they had found a loose sensor plug, not the new compressor I was dreading.

We only wanted the loft bedroom sorted. The surveyor found a way to run the pipes through the eaves, so nothing shows on the front of the house.

FAQs

Questions before a survey

The things people ask most before we visit.

Ask something else

Do I need planning permission for the outdoor unit?

Often not, if the system heats your home as well as cooling it. Since May 2025, England’s permitted development rules include air-to-air heat pumps, within limits on number, size, siting and noise. A unit used only for cooling falls outside those rules, and listed buildings and conservation areas are stricter. Your own case is checked at the survey; this is general guidance, not legal advice.

Can air conditioning heat my home too?

Most split systems can run in reverse and warm a room well in mild weather. They suit a room or two rather than replacing whole-house heating, and we will say if your home needs something different.

Will fitting take more than a day?

Only on bigger jobs. A single-room install is normally finished the day it starts. Two rooms sharing one outdoor unit normally run into a second day.

Who is allowed to fit air conditioning?

In Great Britain, anyone who opens or connects the refrigerant circuit must hold an F-gas certificate, and a company fitting systems for customers must be F-gas certified as well. In England, a new electrical circuit is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, so it is self-certified by a registered electrician or reported to building control.

How noisy are the units?

On a low fan setting an indoor unit makes a soft rush of air. Outdoor units hum when they work hard, so we place them away from bedroom windows, yours and the neighbours’.

What happens at the survey?

It takes about 45 minutes. We measure the room, look at the wall, the pipe route and the power supply, and agree where the outdoor unit could go. Your written price follows no later than two working days after the survey.
