In practice

When you need it

Rooms under the roof, lounges that face south, garden rooms and spare-room offices that are hard to use by July. Many systems also heat, which takes the chill off in spring and autumn.

What you get

  • A survey of the room, the wall and the outdoor spot
  • An indoor and outdoor pair chosen from the room’s measurements
  • Up to 3 metres of pipework, hidden or in white trunking
  • A new electrical supply, tested before handover
  • Commissioning, a walk through the remote and the paperwork

From £1,495, one room, fitted. Fitted prices include up to 3 metres of pipework and VAT.

Every install carries our 5-year workmanship guarantee (sample).

How it goes

Three steps, start to finish

  1. Survey

Room sizes, the wall, the pipe route and a spot outside for the second unit, all settled on site.

  2. Fixed quote

One written price naming the unit, the pipe route and what is included.

  3. Fitting day

A single-room install is normally finished the day it starts. Before we leave you see it run in every mode, and how the filters lift out for washing.

Questions

About home air conditioning

Can it heat as well as cool?

Most split systems we fit can run in reverse as a heat pump and warm the room in mild weather. If a model is cooling only, we say so at the survey.

Where does the outdoor unit go?

Usually on wall brackets or a ground stand at the back or side of the house, where air moves freely and the hum stays away from bedroom windows, yours and the neighbours’.

Will there be pipes on the wall inside?

Where the indoor unit sits on an outside wall, the pipes go straight through behind it. Otherwise they run in slim white trunking, which we agree with you at the survey.
