How we work
From first message to a cooler room
Start with the room
Which room, roughly how big, and your postcode: enough for a first reply and to plan the survey.
A free survey and a fixed price
We visit for about 45 minutes, check the wall, the pipe route and the power, then send one written price no later than two working days after the survey.
Installed and commissioned
A single-room install is normally finished the day it starts. The unit is run in every mode with you there, and the remote and the filter clean are shown before we pack up.
FAQs
Before you choose
Short answers to the questions that come up before a survey.
Do I need planning permission for the outdoor unit?
Often not, if the system heats your home as well as cooling it. Since May 2025, England’s permitted development rules include air-to-air heat pumps, within limits on number, size, siting and noise. A unit used only for cooling falls outside those rules, and listed buildings and conservation areas are stricter. Your own case is checked at the survey; this is general guidance, not legal advice.
Can air conditioning heat my home too?
Most split systems can run in reverse and warm a room well in mild weather. They suit a room or two rather than replacing whole-house heating, and we will say if your home needs something different.
Will fitting take more than a day?
Only on bigger jobs. A single-room install is normally finished the day it starts. Two rooms sharing one outdoor unit normally run into a second day.
Who is allowed to fit air conditioning?
In Great Britain, anyone who opens or connects the refrigerant circuit must hold an F-gas certificate, and a company fitting systems for customers must be F-gas certified as well. In England, a new electrical circuit is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, so it is self-certified by a registered electrician or reported to building control.
